A new QuikTrip is planned for 12245 Montana Avenue in El Paso, with construction set to begin in July 2026. The store will rise just north of the busy Walmart and Lowe’s complex near Loop 375, where new businesses keep reshaping the Montana corridor.
Construction
QuikTrip registered the project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on November 4, 2025. The filing covers a 5,037-square-foot building with construction scheduled to start in mid-2026 and finish by April 2027. The plan includes a standard convenience store layout with a full gas station, similar to other recent QuikTrip builds in Texas.
By September 2025, the land was still undeveloped, but nearby sites had been cleared and graded. This shows preparation for future work, including new access points and utility connections.
This project continues a wave of retail development moving east along Montana Avenue. Over the past decade, the area has shifted from scattered lots to a growing commercial hub. QuikTrip’s filing fits within that expansion trend that began around 2024, signaling strong local investment.
The store’s construction should take about nine to ten months once crews begin. Looking ahead, this development will likely join several other national chains opening along the corridor in 2026 and 2027.
Location
The future QuikTrip will sit on the north side of Montana Avenue near Justice Street. Across the highway are Walmart Supercenter, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Taco Bell, and Whataburger. This stretch is becoming one of East El Paso’s busiest retail areas, supported by constant traffic from Loop 375.
Nearby, LA Choza Menudo y Tamalotes and Rib Hut East anchor smaller dining spots, while new construction continues to fill the remaining parcels. As a result, the QuikTrip will be well positioned to serve the fast-growing residential neighborhoods and commuters moving through the area daily.
