Target’s long-delayed store in Astoria is no longer just a rumor. After years of construction setbacks, the location at 22-11 31st Street officially opened its doors in July 2025. The Astoria location occupies the upper floors above Burlington, with Target signage now firmly in place along 31st Street.

Early reviews give the store a 4.0 rating on Google with about 60 responses so far. Many praise the clean aisles, helpful employees, and faster-than-expected self-checkout lines. On Yelp, shoppers describe it as “beautiful and well stocked” with a surprisingly strong grocery section. Reddit users noted competitive prices, calling out $2.99 eggs, 99-cent pasta, and chicken breasts at $3 a pound — lower than many local markets. The overall tone is relief mixed with excitement after years of waiting.
Astoria Finally Gets Its Target
With the store now fully open, Astoria residents have a new option for groceries, clothing, electronics, and everyday essentials. The addition of Target brings another retail anchor to the Ditmars Boulevard area, complementing the existing Burlington on the ground floor.
