New Publix Opening in Palm Bay, Florida This Fall

Palm Bay is preparing for a new Publix, set to open on October 30, 2025. The supermarket will anchor the Heritage Square development on St. Johns Heritage Parkway. It will bring a 48,387-square-foot store with both a pharmacy and a liquor department. The project reflects the steady westward growth of Palm Bay. Over the past two decades, new neighborhoods, schools, and retail centers have rapidly reshaped this part of the city.

From Farmland to Suburban Growth

In 1994, the future Heritage Square site was open land, marked by fields and scattered vegetation. The surrounding area was mostly undeveloped, with Malabar Road cutting across the landscape as one of the only major routes. Over time, housing developments and schools began to fill in, pushing Palm Bay’s suburban edge further west.

1994 – The Heritage Square site was still open land, with fields and scattered vegetation surrounding Malabar Road as one of the only developed routes.

Construction at Heritage Square

By the early 2020s, the land had been cleared for development. Roads, ponds, and infrastructure were built to prepare for new commercial and residential projects. The Publix building is now rising at the center of Heritage Square, directly along St. Johns Heritage Parkway. Its location positions it to serve both established neighborhoods and the large housing growth underway in southwest Palm Bay.

Publix Expands in Brevard County

The Heritage Square Publix (Store #1899) adds to the grocer’s already strong presence on Florida’s Space Coast. Palm Bay is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state, and Publix continues to follow that growth. With its opening this fall, the new store will bring fresh groceries, pharmacy services, and added convenience to one of the city’s busiest growth corridors.
