An indoor pickleball facility is on the way to The Woodlands. State filings indicate that Elite Pickleball at Sports Plaza is scheduled to commence construction in October 2025. The project will bring a new dedicated venue for the sport to the FM 1488 corridor.
Construction
The plan covers about 21,000 square feet at 3905 FM 1488, Suite 110. It includes eight pickleball courts, a pro shop, and supporting space. The paperwork lists a December 2025 completion date, although these quick schedules often serve as placeholders.
Location
The site is along FM 1488, west of Kuykendahl Road. It is surrounded by a mix of retail and residential growth, with H-E-B, CVS, and Circle K nearby. The area has become a connection point between The Woodlands and Magnolia, with Conroe and Tomball also within a short drive.
Location History
The oldest clear aerial from 1995 shows the tract as dense woodland. By 2015, commercial rooftops such as CVS and ASI Gymnastics had appeared along FM 1488, while the property itself was still wooded. Street View imagery from June 2025 also shows trees along the frontage, underscoring how the land stayed undeveloped while the corridor built up around it.
