Buc-ee’s opened its Brunswick location on July 1, 2025, and in the months since, it has quickly become a landmark along I-95. At 74,000 square feet with 120 gas pumps, it stands as the largest Buc-ee’s in Georgia. Now three months into operation, the store has built a steady stream of customers and hundreds of reviews that show both excitement and a few growing pains.
Construction and Launch
The project began in 2023, turning a wooded stretch near the Highway 99 interchange into a massive travel center. By mid-2025, construction wrapped up, and Buc-ee’s held a preview event for first responders before opening the doors to the public in July.
The Brunswick store brought more than 200 jobs to the area and is open 24 hours a day. Inside, it offers the chain’s staples — brisket sandwiches, fudge counters, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and an expansive merchandise section. Early sales projections suggest tens of millions in yearly revenue, making it one of the region’s most significant retail draws.
Location and History
This site sits at a busy I-95 interchange just north of Brunswick. In the 1950s, aerials show little more than farmland and pine trees. The construction of I-95 in the 1970s turned the corridor into a transportation hub, gradually attracting more development.
The Buc-ee’s project marks the largest single investment in the area to date. Its scale dwarfs earlier roadside stops and reflects how much the interchange has grown over the decades.

Reviews and Public Response
The Brunswick Buc-ee’s holds a 4.2-star average on Google with more than 450 reviews and about 4.0 stars across 40 reviews on Yelp.
Most visitors praise the bathrooms, food options, and wide selection of merchandise. The brisket sandwiches and jerky counter are frequently highlighted, and several customers note the store’s layout makes it easy to spend far longer inside than planned. One review called it “the craziest Buc-ee’s I’ve ever seen,” while another said, “Forty-five minutes later, I was finally walking out.”
There are also critiques. Customers point to heavy congestion at the entrance, long lines during peak hours, and minor restroom issues such as faulty stall indicators and overly hot water at the sinks. Still, the overall response has been strongly positive, with the store drawing steady traffic from both travelers and locals.
Three Months In
Now into October, the Brunswick Buc-ee’s has settled in as a key stop along the southeastern coast. Its size and visibility make it a natural draw for drivers between Florida and the Carolinas, and it continues to attract attention as Georgia’s largest Buc-ee’s. While traffic at the interchange remains a concern, the jobs and activity brought by the project are already making an impact in the Brunswick area.
