Back in June 2022, we reported on the construction of a new Golden Chick on North Beltline Road in Grand Prairie. At the time, the project was still framed as “coming soon,” leaving the question of how it would perform once it opened. Today, with the doors open and hundreds of reviews available, we can finally see how this restaurant is being received by the community.
Construction and Opening
The Grand Prairie Golden Chick filled in a retail pad site that had been underutilized for years, adding another fried chicken option to an already competitive corridor. The project represented the brand’s steady expansion across North Texas, bringing its mix of fried chicken, tenders, and sides closer to a growing stretch of Beltline Road.
Customer Impressions
On Google, the restaurant has a 4.2-star rating from 405 reviews, a solid showing compared to other fast-food chicken chains in the area. Customers often highlight quick service at the drive-thru and friendly staff at the counter. The tenders and rolls remain the most popular menu items.
Outside Google, reviews are more mixed. MapQuest lists the Grand Prairie location with around 3.0 stars from 30+ reviews, while TripAdvisor only shows a handful of reviews ranking the location low in the local restaurant scene. Yahoo Local includes positive mentions about service speed, but Yelp comments flag inconsistency in food freshness and preparation.
How It’s Doing Today
Golden Chick’s Grand Prairie location has clearly established itself since construction finished in 2022. With over 400 Google reviews leaning positive, the restaurant appears to have won over many regulars. At the same time, the lower ratings on secondary platforms show that consistency in food quality and service speed still matter for long-term impressions.
