Construction is now underway for Mesquite’s long-planned Fire Station No. 8, located at 9890 FM 2757 in the growing Trinity Pointe area of Kaufman County. The project, approved by the city to improve emergency response in the southern service area, broke ground on March 24 2025 and is slated for completion in January 2026. This marks Mesquite’s first brand-new fire station since Station 7 opened in 1993.
The facility will feature a four-bay apparatus garage, modern living quarters for firefighters, and an attached police substation. At roughly 17,179 square feet, the station is designed to serve both residential neighborhoods and the surrounding rural area more effectively.
March 19 2025 Google Earth imagery shows the site in early construction, with foundation work and equipment in place.
