The new Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton quietly opened in mid-May 2025, about three months ago, at 701 West Airport Freeway in Irving. The hotel sits at the northeast corner of Airport Freeway and North O’Conner Road, in what was previously a parking lot in Artesian Plaza.
The property spans approximately 76,800 square feet and features 110 rooms, including studio-style suites. It is operated by Hotel Equities and owned by RMS Hospitality LLC, standing out as one of the brand’s more modern and upscale locations in the DFW area.
Amenities and Guest Experience
Guests can expect a polished design and the typical Hampton perks, including:
- Free hot breakfast and Wi-Fi
- Indoor heated pool and fitness center
- Business center and meeting room for up to 50 guests
- Free on-site parking with EV charging stations
- Pet-friendly rooms for dogs up to about 50 lb (with a fee)
Early guest reviews from the past couple months highlight cleanliness and friendly service, while breakfast variety earns mixed notes. The property is already scoring above 9/10 on major booking sites, reflecting a strong start.
Site History and Transformation
Historical aerial imagery shows this corner of Irving remained undeveloped through the 1970s, with Artesian Plaza itself appearing in the 1980s. The site later served as a parking lot for years before the hotel was built.
Today, the Hampton Inn & Suites brings new activity to Artesian Plaza, sitting next to Irving Storage Climate and directly in front of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, along the busy Hwy 183 corridor.
