The announcement appears on the company’s official store openings page, although no opening date has been provided yet. The new site sits at the corner of Eldorado Parkway and South Stonebridge Drive, across from Methodist McKinney Hospital.
A strategic corner with growing suburban energy
This corner of McKinney is no stranger to growth. The new Trader Joe’s will rise on a long-vacant lot nestled between healthcare services, retail pads, and dense neighborhoods. AquaKids Swim School and various dining options sit just east of the property, while sprawling homes surround the development. The placement is ideal for families and commuters who travel Eldorado Parkway daily.
From farmland to premium retail corridor
Historic aerials show the land was used for agriculture as far back as 1956. Large swaths of plowed fields stretched across what is now a buzzing corridor of homes and commercial space. By 1995, the road network had taken shape, but the parcel remained untouched. Nearly 70 years later, the site is preparing to welcome one of the country’s most beloved grocery chains.
