A new Home Depot location is set to open on April 17, 2025, at 2905 International Golf Parkway in St. Augustine, Florida. The store spans over 136,000 square feet and includes a large garden center. It sits southwest of Costco and Buc-ee’s in the World Golf Village corridor, directly along a major stretch of International Golf Parkway near I-95.
The opening is part of the company’s broader expansion, adding 13 stores nationwide in 2025. In St. Johns County, this becomes the third Home Depot store to serve a fast-growing residential and commercial area.
The new site is located near multiple residential developments, including Mill Creek, Westminster St. Augustine, and new neighborhoods near Nine Mile Road. In addition to major highway access, the location benefits from neighboring businesses such as Bass Pro Shops, Panera Bread, Ring Power Corporation, and Pet Paradise.
Two Days of Events Mark the Opening
Home Depot is marking the launch with a series of family-friendly and vendor-driven events over two days:
- April 16, 2025 (6 p.m. – 9 p.m.):
Refreshments and giveaways. Free snacks and prizes available on a first-come, first-serve basis. - April 16, 2025 (6 p.m.):
Free Kids Workshop. Children can build a craft while supplies last. This hands-on workshop focuses on simple creativity. - April 17, 2025 (8 a.m.):
Vendor Demonstrations. Product vendors will provide hands-on demos of tools, systems, and services used in home improvement. - April 17, 2025 (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.):
Local Radio Broadcast. A nearby radio station will host music and giveaways on-site.
A Look Back: From Forestland to Retail Corridor
Historic aerial imagery from 1994 shows the future Home Depot site as undeveloped land surrounded by dense forest. At that time, International Golf Parkway had been constructed, but commercial development in the area had not yet begun. The surrounding land showed signs of early clearing, but much of it remained natural.
By 2023, the transformation had begun. The image from that year shows the site fully cleared and graded in preparation for construction. Nearby, golf courses and planned developments were already in place. This reflects a three-decade transition from rural, undeveloped woodland to a highly trafficked retail and service corridor.
The new store is positioned in a region where large-scale developments have become more frequent. Projects like Bass Pro Shops, Buc-ee’s, and the expansion of World Commerce Center are drawing increased commercial attention. Road infrastructure has improved, and utility expansion has enabled additional projects to take shape.
Strategic Location and Community Growth
This Home Depot fills a service gap along I-95 between Jacksonville and Palm Coast. The area around World Golf Village has seen residential growth and increasing demand for hardware and building supplies.
The surrounding businesses also reflect this shift. Panera Bread, nearby office buildings, and active commercial sites like the Mercedes-Benz charging station and GATE gas station contribute to a growing, diversified node of development. The addition of Home Depot adds another anchor to this area’s evolution.
While the construction of the building is complete, the long-term impact will depend on local demand and continued growth around St. Johns County.
