A major change is coming to Barn Plaza in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Whole Foods Market is set to open a brand-new 43,617-square-foot store at 1745 South Easton Road on March 13, 2025. This store will replace the former Marshalls/HomeGoods location and bring a fresh selection of organic and local products to the area.
The Evolution of Barn Plaza
Barn Plaza, built in 1986, has been a retail staple in Doylestown for decades. Over the years, it has housed a variety of businesses, including major retailers like Kohl’s, Barnes & Noble, and Mattress Firm. One of the most notable past tenants was Regal Barn Plaza 14, a movie theater that operated from 1999 to 2023 before being shut down for redevelopment.
Looking even further back, aerial images from 1948 show that this land was once farmland. By 1992, the shopping center was fully developed, marking a shift toward commercial growth along Route 611.
What to Expect at Whole Foods
Whole Foods Market is known for its high-quality organic and natural foods, and the Doylestown location will be no different. Some highlights include:
Seafood Counter – Featuring sustainable and responsibly farmed options.
Produce Department – Stocked with organic and locally sourced fruits and vegetables.
Specialty Foods – Including artisan cheeses, homemade pasta, and gourmet treats.
365 by Whole Foods Market – Offering an affordable selection of everyday essentials.
The store will operate daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., giving shoppers plenty of time to explore everything it has to offer.
A Sign of Bigger Changes
Whole Foods is just one piece of Barn Plaza’s ongoing transformation. The former Regal Barn Plaza 14 and Applebee’s sites are set to be redeveloped into a mix of retail, dining, and medical office spaces. This marks a significant shift for the shopping center, aiming to modernize and attract a new wave of visitors.
With Whole Foods Market leading the way, Barn Plaza is on track to become a more dynamic shopping and dining destination in Doylestown. Whether you’re a longtime resident or just passing through, this new addition is sure to make a big impact.
