Earlier this year, we looked at the upcoming QuikTrip planned for the corner of Ric Williamson Highway and FM 51. With November here, it makes sense to revisit the project. The store is still part of this growing corridor. The timeline, however, no longer appears clear.
Construction and Current Status
The project remains active in state filings. The TDLR entry lists a projected start in May and an early 2026 finish. Those dates were always estimates. They do not confirm real construction. City permit reports show no clear building permit for the store. Recent staff updates also do not list the project as starting construction. No public source shows tanks, canopies, or any vertical work. The opening date is still unverified.
Location and Area Activity
The site sits at a busy intersection with steady growth. Nearby road work continues along Ric Williamson Highway. That activity could affect site access or timing. Residents still mention the project in local groups. Demand for more fuel and convenience options remains strong. The location continues to make sense for QuikTrip.
What’s Next for the Project
The project is approved but appears delayed. It may be waiting on new permits or site adjustments. It may also be tied to nearby road work. Until the city posts new information, the timeline remains uncertain. The development is active on paper but not visible in the field.
