From Twin Peaks to LongHorn Steakhouse: A Transformation in Progress

The site, previously home to Twin Peaks, has undergone significant changes over the years. Originally, this section of Mesquite was largely undeveloped land before The Marketplace at Towne Centre took shape. The retail center, anchored by major stores like Kohl’s and Home Depot, has since become a bustling shopping and dining destination. The addition of LongHorn Steakhouse marks another step in the area’s continued growth.

Construction and Expected Opening

According to LongHorn Steakhouse’s website, this location is coming soon, though an official opening date has yet to be confirmed. Hiring efforts for servers, hosts, and bartenders suggest that the restaurant is nearing completion.

A Look at the Site’s Evolution

Aerial images from past decades show the area’s steady transformation from vacant land to a thriving retail hub. The former Twin Peaks building, which had been a fixture for years, has now been completely renovated for its new tenant. The shift reflects Mesquite’s growing appeal for national restaurant chains and continued development along LBJ Freeway.
