Pappy's Car Wash Is Coming to Garland's Bobtown Road ⋆ SprawlTag.com

A new car wash in Garland is coming to Bobtown Road, just off Interstate 30, at exit 61A. The car wash is listed on the TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) website as being 4,500 square feet. It is being constructed adjacent to a recently built QuikTrip and on a site that was once home to an apartment complex built in the 1980s. That apartment complex did not last long, as it was razed by 1995, according to aerial images. The foundations of the individual buildings are still visible next to the upcoming Pappy’s Car Wash location. This is the second Pappy’s Car Wash in the area. There is also one off Interstate 30, but that one is in Royse City.

This Google Earth aerial view dated February 2001 shows Pappy’s Car Wash location 23 years ago. Notice the foundation of what was most likely an apartment complex that appeared in aerial images in the 1980s. Comment below if you know the story.
