The Pittman Hotel
The 164 room Pittman hotel is located on the eastern end of The Epic on Good Latimer and Elm Street. It has indoor and outdoor lobby bars and restaurant, resort-style pool, meeting spaces, and a grand ballroom. Part of the hotel was once the Knights of Pythias Building.
Next to The Pittman Hotel is The Hamilton, a 26-story residential tower with 310 multifamily units. The tower has a pool deck with cabanas and many other amenities and views of downtown Dallas. Other amenities include a dog wash, bike storage and controlled access garage parking.
The Epic Office Tower
The northern end of the Epic has a 10-story tower with class AA office space. Epic Office tower has 251,000 square feet of space and a 7th floor rooftop amenity deck. A fitness center and views of Downtown Dallas are among many features that the building has.

William Sidney Pittman, the first African-American architect in Dallas designed the building for the fraternal order The Knights of Pythias. He was the son-in-law of Booker T. Washington. The Pittman Hotel restored the building to it’s original look. In 1959, The Union Bankers Insurance Company acquired the building and in 1989 it was designated a Landmark by the city of Dallas.
The area looked completely different in 1952 with the only building remaining today being the Knights of Pythias building.
In the 90’s a Grainger supply building was on the same location.
Knights of Pythias building was the only building still standing in 2017.
