Construction of the Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas, is progressing swiftly. The resort occupying a 97-acre site at the northeast corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway, is set to open in May 2026.
Vertical construction has commenced, with the five-story, 300-room hotel beginning to rise. Recent city approvals have confirmed the hotel’s vibrant design, aligning with the resort’s family-friendly theme.
The resort will feature immersive themed lands based on popular franchises such as Trolls, Shrek, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Despicable Me. These areas will offer a variety of rides, shows, and interactive experiences tailored for families with young children.

Infrastructure developments are also underway. The new six-lane Universal Parkway, has been paved, improving access to the resort.
The Universal Kids Resort is part of the larger 2,500-acre Fields development. It includes the PGA of America’s headquarters and the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. This expansive project is expected to draw millions of visitors annually, significantly boosting local tourism and the economy.
The site is nestled between the Dallas North Tollway to the west and Panther Creek to the east. Aerial images dating back to the late 1950s show that only the creek remains from the past. This area, like much of Frisco, was once farmland until the Dallas North Tollway was constructed in the 2000s. Universal Kids Resort marks the first development at this location.
