The southeast corner of the Ballardsville and Brownsboro Roads intersection in Louisville, Kentucky, will soon welcome a brand-new Kroger store, opening on September 12, 2024. Construction is now complete on the 61,617-square-foot store, which will feature a 7-pump fuel center, 300 parking spaces, a Starbucks, a pharmacy, and a drive-thru Wine and Spirits Shoppe. This 8-acre site, adjacent to the LG&E Operations Center in Worthington, marks the first development in this location.
Interestingly, Kroger had submitted plans for this store nearly 15 years ago, which the Louisville Metro Government had approved, but it was never built—until now. Aerial images reveal that this area has transformed significantly since 1949 when it was primarily farmland.
