Whataburger Plans New Restaurant in Joshua, Texas

A recent TDLR filing reveals that Whataburger will open a new restaurant in Joshua, Texas. The planned site is at State Hwy 174 and Joshua Station Blvd, in the southern part of the city, which has a population of approximately 9,000.

The intersection where the new Whataburger will be located is directly opposite New Horizon High School. To the west, there is a Starbucks and a Brookshire’s Grocery Store. South of Starbucks are some undeveloped lots. The filings do not specify the exact lot for the Whataburger construction.

Joshua Station Blvd primarily leads to the Joshua Community YMCA and Cypress Creek at Joshua Station Apartments, both developed in the 2010s. Aside from these, the area has seen little development. Historical aerial images from the 1930s show a small farm property at this location next to a two-lane State Highway 174.
