In 2025 This San Antonio Intersection Will Be Home to a New Slim Chickens

According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings, Slim Chickens is opening a new restaurant at the intersection of Nacogdoches (FM 2252) and N Loop 1604 (Charles W. Anderson Loop) in San Antonio. This intersection is south of the Rolling Oaks Mall in the city’s northeast part. The restaurant will be approximately 2,700 square feet, although the exact location remains unclear. There are undeveloped lots on the southwest corner of the intersection, next to Jim’s Restaurants, and a wooded area on the southeast corner. This intersection, established in the late 1960s, has evolved significantly as San Antonio’s suburban sprawl has expanded.

The company opened its first location in Texarkana, Arkansas, and in 2019 announced plans to open 600 more locations within 10 years. As of 2024, it has slightly over 200 locations. The new San Antonio location’s construction is expected to be complete by April 2025.
