Coming Soon: A New Universal Kids Resort At This Location in Frisco

In 2026, Frisco will welcome a new Universal Kids Resort at 13850 Dallas Parkway, just north of Panther Creek Parkway. Universal Destinations & Experiences, the theme park unit of NBCUniversal and a subsidiary of Comcast, recently purchased the 97 acres of land for this exciting venture. Besides the theme park, the project includes a 300-room hotel. Construction started in November 2023, with an estimated total cost of $550 million. Universal Destinations & Experiences is among the world’s largest amusement park operators.

An aerial view from 2001 shows the untouched farmland in Frisco, marked by the red arrow, where the Universal Kids Resort is being developed.

The site is nestled between the Dallas North Tollway to the west and Panther Creek to the east. Aerial images dating back to the late 1950s show that only the creek remains from the past. This area, like much of Frisco, was once farmland until the Dallas North Tollway was constructed in the 2000s. Universal Kids Resort marks the first development at this location. The project is expected to be complete by June 2026.

By 2023, the landscape has transformed significantly with the construction of the Dallas North Tollway and the early stages of the Universal Kids Resort development.
