Tilman Fertitta’s New Casino Is Being Built On This Site In Las Vegas

Billionaire Tilman Fertitta has advanced his 43-story Las Vegas Strip resort project. Building permits were filed from March to October 2023. The resort, located on the former Tex Mex Tequila Bar & Grill site, will include a 2,420-room hotel, 2,500-seat theater, restaurants, a convention space, a spa, and a wedding chapel. Fertitta also plans to rebrand the Hard Rock hotel-casino in Lake Tahoe. Clark County is still reviewing most permits, and no new updates are available on the project’s progress. Below are aerial and street view images showing how the area has evolved over the years, starting in 1950.

By the 1960s a hotel had been built on the site. Part of the hotel was a Travelodge Hotel before being closed in 2022.
In the nineties The Harley-Davidson Café building was built on the northern end of the site.
