Chick-fil-A is relocating its restaurant from 1909 Preston Road to 5040 W Park Blvd in Plano. The new location, only 432 yards away, was once home to a Luby’s restaurant which was built in the early 1990s, marking the first development at this site. Both the current Chick-fil-A and the former Luby’s were part of the Preston Park Shopping Center.

The new Chick-fil-A will feature a modern design, encompassing 5,600 square feet. It will include double drive-thru lanes and an indoor kids’ play area. This move reflects Chick-fil-A’s growth as it has seen it’s popularity grow since being founded back in 1946. The beloved chicken sandwich restaurant has been moving a lot of it’s older locations to bigger and more modern facilities.

This part of Plano began it’s transformation from farmland in the 1950s to urban development beginning in late 1970s.
The relocation is anticipated to be complete in November 2024.
