A New and Bigger Kroger is Replacing This Plano Store

Plano’s new Kroger store, replacing the location at Highway 121 and Coit Road, is nearing completion. This modern and significantly larger store will be built next to Quick Trip, replacing the existing store once finished.

The new Kroger store spans approximately 120,000 square feet, a substantial increase from the current store’s 74,000 square feet. Construction began in July 2023 and is expected to complete soon, with a budget of $10 million.

he current store has been a community staple since its opening in 2004. Its presence has been vital to the area’s retail landscape. However, with Plano’s growth, Kroger aims to meet the community’s evolving needs.

With HEB recently entering the market, the new Kroger will likely offer an updated and more extensive selection of products and services. This new store promises to better serve the community, providing a modern shopping experience to meet the demands of Plano’s residents.

Location History

The location where the current store is situated has a short development history. According to aerial images, the area surrounding the store was once farmland before home construction began in the 1990s.
