Construction is set to begin on a new six-story AC Hotel at 335 John W. Carpenter Freeway in Las Colinas, Irving. Nestled on a previously undeveloped lot adjacent to The Westin Irving Convention Center, the hotel boasts a prime location, offering easy access by foot to the Wells Fargo campus on Las Colinas Blvd, which is nearing completion.
Historic aerial imagery reveals the area’s dramatic transformation since the late 1950s, prior to the completion of the John W. Carpenter Freeway in the early 1970s. At that time, O’Connor Road extended north to Royal Lane, with remnants of this abandoned section still discernible today.
AC Hotels, a brand established in 2005 and later acquired by Marriott in 2011, is behind this ambitious project. With nearly 200 hotels globally, AC Hotel continues to expand its international footprint to its portfolio with this new establishment in Las Colinas. The completion date for this location is July 2025.
