Home improvement giant Home Depot plans to build a new 136,014-square-foot store at the northwest corner of Cane Island Parkway and Kingsland Boulevard in Katy, Texas. Construction is projected to start in April. The location is just south of Interstate 10. Historical aerial images of the area, dating back to the 1950s, show that the new Home Depot will be the first development at this location. Fifty-four years earlier, Interstate 10 cut through the area. Adjacent to the development, which will include many other upcoming businesses, is a Vanguard Truck Center, constructed between 2004 and 2008.
