New Colleyville Chipotle

A new Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to FM 17568 in La Marque, Texas. This upcoming establishment will encompass an area of approximately 2371 square feet, with an estimated construction cost of $525,000. Main Street Commercial Partners, a Texas-based Commercial Real Estate Firm, is overseeing the project.

Chipotle will be a part of the Greyhound development, joining other notable establishments like McDonald’s and Raising Cane’s. The new development will offer direct accessibility from FM 1764 to both I-45 and the Emmett Lowry Expressway.

La Marque, Texas

La Marque, once known as Highlands and Buttermilk Junction, is a residential community in Galveston County, Texas. Originally “Highlands,” it was renamed by Madam St. Ambrose in the 1890s. The town’s history includes a Civil War-era name change due to a buttermilk trade, and growth as a railway hub with a rising population. It served as a residential area for nearby industrial facilities, experiencing population fluctuations. Rising Galveston real estate costs led to an influx of families, spurring recent growth.

Location History

The development area has undergone significant changes over the years. Up until around 1958 when the establishment of FM 1764 occurred, historical aerial images show that the region remained largely undeveloped. From 1992 onwards, Gulf Greyhound Park served as a prominent entertainment venue for almost three decades until its closure in 2020.
