Philadelphia will have a new Target on Chestnut Street and 37th street. The new Target will be next to the 14-story International House building in West Philly which was renamed The Mason. The building served mostly as a residential center for international students in nearby schools, University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University.

International House was completed in 1970 and designed by Philadelphia’s Bower & Fradley (BLT Architects). The building was designated as historic by Philadelphia’s Historical Commission. Alterra Property Group is redeveloping the property and the new Target will open in the plaza on the Chestnut Street end of the building.
