Louisiana’s first Buc-ee’s will be built on the northwest corner of the Tarbutton Exchange on Interstate 20 in the western end of Ruston Louisiana. Ruston’s new Buc-ee’s will use 30 acres of the tract of land across the street from Ruston Junior High School. $25 million was spent on the Tarbutton Exchange to improve traffic flow from Grambling State University and Louisiana Tech University.

The new Buc-ee’s will have 120 gas pumps and create a minimum of 200 new full-time jobs for Ruston. Texas-based Buc-ee’s opened the first store in Clute, Texas back in 1982 and has now grown to over 43 locations in 7 states and counting. The convenience store chain is known for its clean bathrooms and a large amount of fueling pumps. Construction for Ruston’s new Buc-ee’s is expected to begin later in 2023.
