Hanger 19 apartments were built on what used to be part of the Greater Southwest International Airport. The airport was opened in 1953 and eventually close in 1974 after Dallas-Fort Worth International airport was opened. Today all that remains of the old airport is a small part of one of the runways just north of Texas State Highway 183.
