Ruth Paine House

Ruth Paine House in Irving Texas

The house where Lee Harvey Oswald spent his last night free before allegedly assassinating the 35th President of the United States is located in Irving Texas. It was built in 1956 during the 1950’s post World War 2 suburban boom. In April 1963 Marina Oswald, the wife of the alleged assassin began to live with Ruth Paine. Paine had made it her home in 1959. Lee Harvey Oswald would visit his family on weekends. It is believed he stored the rifle he used to assassinate President Kennedy in Ruth Paine’s garage.

Below are images of the kitchen and the garage by Timcdfw. The house was purchased by the city of Irving in 2009 and eventually restored to its 1963 appearance. It is now a museum and can be toured. The tour begins at 801 W. Irving Blvd
